I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
